ABOUT THE PROGRAMME


This 5 day instructor course condenses the learning time required to prepare for the PMP® certification exam, summarizes the critical points from all of the PMI® recommended test preparation texts (approximately 4300 pages of documentation) plus recent issues of the PMI® Journal and fully addresses all the topic areas covered in the PMP® certification exam through the extensive use of a case study and practical exercises. In order to pass the certification exam, participants must be current and fluent in a wide range of topics, unambiguously know the PMI terminology and context

Entry Requirements


Entry into the PMP exam is prescribed by the Project management institute. Candidates have two options:

Option 1

  • • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree, or global equivalent)
  • • A minimum of 5 years (60 months) unique non-overlapping professional project management experience (at least 7 500* hours spent leading and directing project tasks)
  • • 35 contact hours of formal project management training/education


Option 2

  • • A four year degree (bachelor’s degree or global equivalent)
  • • A minimum of three years (36 months) unique non-overlapping professional project management experience (at least 4 500* hours were spent leading and directing project tasks
  • • 35 contact hours of formal project management training/education

*You should have experience in all five process groups (initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling, and closing) across all your project management experience submitted in the application. However on a single project you do not need to have experience in all five process groups.


Learning outcomes

By the end of the programme, participants should be able to:

  • • Define and describe common project management terminology.
  • • Use a step-by-step process to manage projects faster while using fewer resources.
  • • Avoid common pitfalls and mistakes in managing projects.
  • • Apply the International Project Management Standards from the Project Management Institute (the PMBOK® Guide) to real-world situations.
  • • Identify what knowledge and experience is needed to pass the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Professional (PMP) ® Certification Exam 1st time


37 PMI Contact Hours; 4 Simulated Practice Tests; Videos, Study Guides, and Chapter Tests for all Knowledge Areas; Course Validity: 60 days



Examination Eligibility

Once payment of the credential fee has been received, and you successfully completed the application audit (if your application was selected), you are deemed eligible to take the examination. PMI will send you an email notification with:

  • • PMI Eligibility ID
  • • The start and end dates for your eligibility period
  • • The examination scheduling instructions
